I’m Sian, the South African born, London dwelling, jewel obsessed creative who brought Spook & Whimsy to life. I’ve personally designed and curated every aspect of Spook & Whimsy myself, from the brand, to the website and have even handpicked every piece that features on the store. I love all things sparkly and dreamy and hope you do too!
I’ve always loved jewellery and been since I was little I’d spend hours playing with beads and feathers to create my own pieces. Having a love for all things creative, I started my career in design and eventually became a web developer at a little agency. This combined two things I really loved, creating something functional and beautiful but also bringing businesses to life.
But I still had the jewellery bug. I spent hours online looking at the stunning pieces made by designers I loved and began badgering the local jeweller to teach me how to make my own pieces.
It wasn’t until my career took me to London in 2014 that I finally managed to do some lessons in silversmithing. I started making my own pieces at home and while I really enjoyed it, I wanted to combine the career I had loved for years in web development with my passion for jewellery. And so, Spook & Whimsy was born. I decided to handpick and curate pieces that I personally loved as well as design my own and bring them to the world.
Anyone who knows me will know how much I love a whimsical style and stars, moons, dreamcatchers and rainbows adorn almost all aspects of my life. I select items I love and that I hope others will love too – which means I also want to ensure all our products are only quality gold plated sterling silver. No brass or copper here.
While I loved sourcing stunning pieces, I also wanted to bring some of my own ideas to life. The Premium Collection are all pieces designed by me, just for you and are made of the highest quality gold vermeil and natural gemstones.
